On March 21, 2025, I successfully defended my PhD dissertation at the Artificial Intelligence Institute (KI), University of Stuttgart. My research, titled “Spatiotemporal Fusion of Nonverbal Voice & Eye Gaze for Human-Computer Interactions,” explored the intersection of multimodal inputs to create more intuitive and seamless digital experiences.

We were awarded first place in the information and communication technology (ICT) category of the CyberOne Hightech Award for our innovation. The CyberOne Hightech Award, established in 1998 by the Baden-Württemberg state government in Germany, is a prestigious recognition bestowed upon innovative and forward-thinking business concepts in the technology sector.

Our booth at the Rehacare trade fair 2023 was again a great success. For the second time we were at the world’s leading trade fair for rehabilitation and care, the Rehacare.

I presented our recognition of humming sounds using deep learning at the prestigious INTERSPEECH conference in Dublin. At Semanux, our claim to develop highly innovative technologies to improve access to the digital world for all is a big promise.

At the Hannover Messe, we introduced our technology to representatives of the world’s most important industrial companies at our booth. With the elaborate appearances of Siemens, Microsoft, SAP, Google and Teamviewer at the Hannover Messe, it is evident that the digital revolution of Industry 4.

At the KI-Garage demo day on January 27, ten emerging AI-based startups from Baden-Württemberg presented their innovations. With Semanux, we were awarded third place by the jury of experts. It was a great pleasure for us to meet probably the best new AI startups from Baden-Württemberg in the accelerator and also to celebrate the end of the network accelerator program all together.

We were at the OTWorld 2022 trade show in Leipzig, Germany, the largest and leading international industry platform for manufacturers, distributors and service providers in modern assistive technology. Raphael and I visited the OTWorld 2022 in Leipzig from May 10 to May 13.

In our research paper “Hummer: Text Entry by Gaze and Hum”, we have combined gaze control with humming sounds in a novel, hands-free text entry system. Our results were accepted for detailed publication and presentation at the most important international conference on human-computer interaction, CHI.
